Beater wheel mills
Beater wheel mills are machines designed to prepare a dust-gas fuel mixture for burning in furnace chambers of steam boilers by pulverizing, drying, classifying and transporting coal to the dust-gas burners. Beater wheel mills can also be used for grinding other mineral materials, such as limestone, dolomite, sulphur and lime.
A beater wheel mill performs two functions at the same time:
- of a machine for pulverising coal into dust with the required fineness;
- of a fan that sucks in the required amount of medium for drying and moving the coal dust to the furnace.
Grinding process in the beater wheel mills involves breaking mineral material. Rotating beater wheel inside the mill chamber is the part which breaks the material being ground. Diameters of the beater wheels, depending on the mill capacity range from 700 mm to 3700 mm.
To date, FPM S.A. produced and delivered to the Polish and foreign markets over 920 beater wheel mills intended for grinding hard and brown coal, as well as flaky sulphur.
